Laugh at Mother's Day

I know a mom named Molly, but her husband's name isn't Coddle, and her kids aren't spoiled.
Mother's Day is one of those holidays that's become commercialized. So here's my shameless plug for a gift book for the occasion, called "Cartoons for Caregivers". It includes the image above, and many others, taken from over 10 years of my "Six Chix" cartoons.
It will be available on Saturday, April 27th at the Hastings Station Cafe, from 11 AM - 5 PM, or you can get it by contacting me. It's been endorsed by Tuesday's Six Chix, Margaret Shulock, Saturday's Six Chix, Stephanie Piro, cartoonist Doug Bratton, and humorist  Roz Warren.

Best Picture

Since Argo won best picture last night, maybe now more people will understand this cartoon, which managed to perplex and offend a few readers. No offense was intended. I just wanted to make fun of the great, and ridiculous 1970's fashions shown in the film. By the way, did the film win any hairstyle awards?

Party like it's 1999

We got our "Six Chix" contract in 1999. New Year's Eve falls on a Monday this year, so I decided to celebrate with a drawing of us all dancing. This is the rough sketch for that cartoon.

Here's one for Halloween

Concerned Scientists Cartoon Contest

Here is a cheerful one for the summer, and it also relates to the them of a cartoon contest I am participating in sponsored by The Union of Concerned Scientists. They are a Washington DC group of "Citizens and Scientists for Environmental Solutions". In other words, they do a lot of great work, leaving us cartoonists free to just poke fun at people.

Women's Voices for Change profile

Here is a profile about me written by humorist, Roz Warren, at the web site, Women's Voices for Change. Back in the day, Roz published many women cartoonists, including me, Rina Piccolo, Stephanie Piro, and Anne Gibbons, with her Laugh Lines Press company. Now she writes humorous essays for The Funny Times, The Humor Times, and for Women's Voices for Change (who specialize in women over forty - hence the retirement planning cartoon.)
